Tapping the GM icon
on the Main Screen accesses the Galactic Map. The Galactic Map displays the sectors in the galaxy you can travel to only via hyperspace jump (warp drive.) A sector can be empty space, contain a Starbase or Fuelbase, or enemy ships. Your current position is indicated by a flashing blue sector with your ship’s diamond-shaped icon in it. A flashing red sector is your intended destination via hyperspace. A single tap on any sector brings up text at the top of the screen providing you with your current energy/fuel (E) levels, the fuel required to get to your selected destination via hyperspace, and any enemy ships currently in that sector (Enemy.) Tapping again on that sector will warp you there and bring you to the Main Screen. You may also do a quick double-tap on any sector to quickly initiate warp.
Tip: Hyperspace jumps deplete your fuel exponentially, rather than linearly – it can be more fuel-efficient (and can reflect better on your final score) if you break up a long hyperspace jump into two smaller ones. You will notice your warp fuel display change to yellow or red when multiple jumps should be used to save fuel. If you see a number in yellow, that means jumping one or more sectors closer to your current position will save a great deal of fuel, so jump to a point between your current and intended destination, then jump again to your final location.
Tip: If you activate a warp jump and need to change your intended destination, you can return to the GM and double-tap on a new sector prior to entering the hyperspace tunnel.
Tapping the Long Range Scan button
in the top right corner provides a shortcut to the LRS. Tap the Main Screen button
in the lower right corner to return to the Main Screen.
Enemy ships are represented by red “hash marks” in the Galactic Map (GM.) A sector may contain 1, 2, 3 or 4 enemy ships, with each number indicated by a different icon. The number of red hashes indicates how many enemy ships are in the sector.

All enemy ships in a sector travel as a patrol and will advance together at specific intervals to a new sector, usually toward a Starbase or Fuelbase. Their goal is to surround a base, and then attack until the base is destroyed.
Smaller patrols travel “faster” than larger ones. In the Galaxy Defense missions, one or two ship patrols will advance every 30 seconds. Every time the Chronometer in the upper-left-corner of your Main Screen flashes, an enemy ship movement may be occurring. Patrols of 3 or 4 ships move less often.
Tip: Ghost ships in The Last Starbase missions may be “cloaked,” meaning they will not show up on the Galactic Map except briefly when they move to a new sector. However, tapping on a seemingly empty Galactic Map sector may result in a warning beep and a questioning indication from your Starfighter’s computer, suggesting the presence of hidden enemies there. Proceed with caution!
Starbase’s are indicated by
and provide ship repair and refueling. Fuelbases are shown as
and will only refuel your ship. (See the section on Bases for more information and limitations.) The status of a base is indicated by its color.
Green = A Base is secure
Yellow = A Base is targeted for attack
Flashing Yellow to Orange = A Base is under attack
Solid Orange = Base status is unknown. Your Sub-Space radio is damaged and not receiving updates from any base. Consequently, enemies may move, surround a base or even destroy it without you knowing!
When four sectors that surround a base contain enemy ships, they will attack the base. Warp to one of those sectors and destroy all the ships in it as quickly as possible to prevent the destruction of the base.
Tip: When a Base is going to be attacked, or already under attack, go for the adjacent enemy sector with the least amount of ships to clear it faster. Also note that cloaked Ghosts will not appear around a base, so you may receive a “base surrounded” alert and not see four sectors with enemies around that base.

xThe Starbase is now under attack (it will flash yellow and orange). When 4 adjacent sectors to a Base contain enemy ships, the Base will be attacked.
Tip: Try and conserve fuel by attacking enemies in nearby sectors rather then randomly jumping all over the Galactic Map (GM).
