If your Starfighter takes damage or needs refueling you need to find a Starbase or Fuelbase. Fuelbases will only refuel your ship, while a Starbase will refuel and repair damaged or destroyed systems. The more fuel or repairs your ships requires, the longer it will take to perform these operations. Find a sector with the base you need and warp to it. Upon entering the sector the base should be straight ahead. You can also use your Tracking or LRS to find a base, if they are still working.
As you approach the base, adjust your throttle to slow as you get close. A blue Docking Target will appear. As you get even closer, center your ship with the target and follow the instruction on the screen. Note: if your Throttle is set above 3 during docking, or if you approach a base too quickly right out of hyperspace, the docking procedure may be aborted. You’ll have to back away from the base, face it again and retry your approach. After refuel/repairs are completed you can depart the dock. (If you leave before this point, you may not have a full complement of fuel and/or your ship’s systems may not be fully repaired.)
Tip: Bases don’t have unlimited fuel reserves. Bases that have been attacked will have reduced fuel capacity. You can check a base’s fuel available fuel supply by tapping on a base icon while in the GM.
